I got the fever for more carbon goodies…ahh just great! This 35mm clamp size bar is 760mm in width and comes in a 10mm and 20mm rise. I went with the 20mm.
I have the 780mm wide bars on my bike now, and they feel OK but a bit close for comfort on the trails I am usually on. Maybe the 10mm will help give me some piece of mind?
Carbon bars are supposed to be stiffer and more absorbent of trail vibrations than aluminum but with carbon wheels I felt that the opposite was true. With the wheels I felt stiffness but also felt a bit more vibration in my hands, maybe due to the stiffness?
There are a lot of carbon bars on the market, Renthal seem to be one of the most popular ones I see around but a bit more than I wanted to spend. Enve, Hope, Raceface, Pivot, Santa Cruz and Answer make some as well. I went with the Raceface because I’ve had other bars and products from them and always seem to hold up well, plus they were the cheapest I found and compatible with my 35mm stem.
