OK I have a sickness….there I said it, not sure why I ‘needed’ to get another bike, but riding the Pivot in Colorado just felt so great as did the Santa Cruz!  I rented the Mach 5.5 and fell in love but that bike was a little out of my price range. Fast forward a few seasons of riding(here that’s fall, winter, spring, winter more winter, and summer) and I find this nice, barely used Mach 429 and at a really great price!  Geometry was very close to the 5.5 and it can use either 29″ or 27.5+” wheels! I am not a huge fan of Sram drive trains but for the price, I’d give it a go!

The Sram GX shifters and X1 rear derailleur seem to be comparable to Shimano’s XT, which is what I usually prefer.  We’ll see if it’s worth a changeover once I get some miles on it!

The rest of this post is some initial stock copy/paste on the 2016 specs and some photos from the previous owner.  I cannot wait to get this on the trail and see how it compares to the Santa Cruz 5010!

This is a scratch on the bluish protective tape that comes on it from factory, hasn’t even been removed yet, that’s good!
