The first winter storm hit Michigan and dropped about 9″ on us.  I took the Santa Cruz out for a quick spin and had a blast, although it didn’t really handle turns well at all, airing down the 27.5 helped with straight line riding.

This of course got me thinking about all the fat tire bikes out there.  What is the big deal, how do they work in the snow?  I decided I needed to find out, so after a little research I found this inexpensive mid-level bike.  Below are the specs on the Framed Minnesota 3.o with aluminum frame and 4″ wide tires.

I purchased this from the-house.com which offers a lot of different models of the Framed fat bikes.  As of this writing I am awaiting UPS to drop it off at my door any minute so I’ll have a follow up on the packaging and un-packaging of the bike!
